The folks at Rega have been super busy! Rega’s new Mains Lead (power cord in Amerispeak) $175. Got a amp, or CD player? Improve it’s performance! The Rega Mains Lead blows away competition that’s 3X the cost!
Rega’s upgraded and improved upon “white belt” is no longer a limited edition and they lowered the price to $59. SERIOUS upgrade indeed! It’s made of pure rubber and has much tighter tolerances than the standard belt. Rega says it will last longer than the standard black belt. For $20 more, it seems quite worth it. I just put them on my P9 which was long overdue for new belts and the difference was stunning! The bass tightened up and everything was more detailed. Got a P2 or better? Get a new belt! If you don’t hear an improvement, I’ll give you your money back!! PLEASE NOTE! There are after market Rega belts on the net… beware. Accept no substitute. You will get burned.
Coming Soon!! Rega DAC! I’ve been waiting 2 years for this! Housed in a newly designed half box. It will have plenty of inputs, filter selection and high rez 24/96 output! $995! Got a Apollo CD player you want to best the Saturn? Ready to make your computer sing? It’s coming! Soon!

Affordable Hi-End Audio… Mate!
In my never ending quest for high quality audio without the high end price tag, I’m getting in the AktiMate Mini (Maxi soon after). The AktiMate series was designed by Mike Creek, owner of Creek Audio and Epos Loudspeakers.
What you get is a Creek amplified Epos speaker with an embedded iPod dock and two additional inputs for listening to a source other than your iPod. When the iPod isn’t in use, there’s a hinged cover built right into the speaker that folds down flat to conceal the dock. They even come with a cute little remote control. On May 16 at 7:45 am Ronnie James Dio passed away from stomach cancer at age 67. Dio was a great entertainer, amazing singer and all around nice guy. Heavy Metal has lost an icon!

I got that record jones
Once upon a time there was a street in Austin called The Drag. Located across the street from University of Texas, The Drag was a street loaded with record shops, book stores, coffee shops, arcades and cheap eats. Then the 90’s came to a close and everything died there along with the Dot Com bust. Even The Gap and Tower Records closed. This was where my first shop was located. It’s now a Tattoo / Piercing studio called Diablo Rojo. Belly button piercings are better biz than hi-fi…. whatever. There was a record shop there called Inner Sanctum. The owner has opened up his home for the past few weeks to unload the remainder of his record stash. This is a pic from Friday morning. A bunch of dudes waiting for him to open up. The funny thing is that there was a sign on the door saying “I have a cold, closed until next week” Even so, people were waiting hoping he would show up. I felt like I was “waiting for my man” ie. Lou Reed. After 15 minutes someone mentioned the sign and I left… Jonesing for black gold.
Audiophile Silence of the Lambs!!!
An excellent example of a gacked out Audiophool. Loves his cables more than women? Lives in his mom’s basement doing meth? Probably giving out “great” advice on various audio forums. So Scary!! Watch with the lights on!
