Sprockets!
Dieter’s Dance Party! The similarities are uncanny! In all seriousness, I would’ve dug seeing Kraftwerk at MoMa last week. Electronic music owes a great deal to them. I was never a huge fan but I think they were important.
Happy Trails Levon.
Silly Ted… shut up and play the gee-tar!
DeVore Delights! Gibbon 88 coming soon!
This past week I’ve had many people inquiring about DeVore Fidelity speakers. I normally have a few offerings on the floor but am in the process of getting rid of the old and gearing up for the new. Lots of interesting newbies coming from DeVore in the next few months. I’ll have the Gibbon 88 soon and am also waiting for the new Gibbon X. Both were unveiled at CES a few months ago. All DeVore cabinets will now be built with bamboo.
Got an olde arse Rega?
Is your Rega turntable a bit long in the tooth? Does it have the old rubber band motor mount? Do you hear it knocking upon start up? Then the new Rega 24V High Performance Upgrade Kit should be on your short list. Fits all Rega turntables, past & present. You will also be able to add the TTPSU (turntable power supply) for further “badarseness”. Upgrade Kit $225. TTPSU $395. (Heck, while you’re at it you may as well get a new hub bearing and inner platter $65.) That should fix you up for the next 25 years!
Big Star
I have a sealed Big Star #1 Record that I’m going to crack on my 50th birthday. I can’t wait!!
Thanks “Dad”
Rega RP6… The wait is (kinda) over!
My backordered Rega RP6 turntables will arrive tomorrow!! I want to thank all of you for your patience! The RP6 is going to be extremely popular. If you want a RP6, order one ASAP to get in line. The longer you wait, the longer it will be until you have one spinning your beloved records. Check out the first US review from TONE AUDIO.
The White Horse
You gotta love a bar that has live Country, Bluegrass, Roots and Red Dirt music every single night. Better yet, one that you can walk to and stumble home from. That is The White Horse, my new favorite bar. Last night I met my friend Justin there and witnessed Mike & the Moonpies. There were 9 people on stage playing. Cosmic Cowboys are alive and well here in Austin. Many drinks of the barley and bourbon variety were consumed. Some guy had a medium sized black dog slung around his neck, I think I ended up dancing with it…
